El Taco Real - Reserva de mesa

The inside of the premises was clean and we were greeted promptly by the friendly hostess and seated. A complimentary basket of chips, the house tomato sauce and pico de gallo was also brought after a slight delay. The queso and jalapenos is now $2 extra which is worth it in this reviewer 's opinion, even though it wasn 't easy to get. The main course Con carne chili is as good as ever. The chile relleno stuffed with cheese was good but not the best. Next year will mark 50 years that El Taco Real opened and that 's worth a lot by itself. There are still too many older servers that are not attentive and their calculations for tipping include the tax, which is wrong.

-10 RATE!! We walked in with smiles and our daughters, but unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst experience for our first visit! We waited 10 minutes for our waitress, and my friend and I noticed that another server was sitting down and helping other tables. We eventually had to flag down a different waiter to take our order, and then they messed it up. No one came to check on us afterward. Honestly, we were the only Black/Latina women in the restaurant, and we did not deserve that kind of disrespect!

Terrible experience! I would advise against visiting this restaurant. My friend and I went today with our daughters, and the service was disappointing. Our server attended to three tables that were seated after us before even coming to our table. When we received our order, it was incorrect, and after speaking to the manager, it was clear she had a negative attitude as well. This is simply unacceptable.

Pork enchiladas were great. Pico was super fresh with tomatoes still in season. Pork tamales were great. Our server Zochilt was great. She made suggestions and assisted us all along. Premium margarita was excellent and not lacking in flavor at all. Havenot been there in years but I'm glad to see Raymundo is still keeping it real. Reserva una mesa ahora

I found all the waitresses to be friendly during my visit, but I thought the food was a bit pricey for what you get. My meal arrived quickly but unfortunately, it was burned. I ordered a full flautas dinner, and both chicken flautas were crisp to the point of being burnt. Despite this, we still left a generous tip.

We have been going to this restaurant for over 30 years, it has been consistent the whole time. Everything there is utter perfection. The food is ALWAYS AMAZING! The wait staff is has always been VERY welcoming, friendly make you feel at home. Highly recommend.

Although I no longer live in the area, some of my fondest memories are of El Taco Real. Whenever I return home, it's always one of my first stops. I always refer to it as my favorite Mexican restaurant—a true institution.

Loved El Taco Real in Hammond, IN. The food was amazing and at an affordable cost. The customer service and dining ambiance was excellent. Recommend the enchiladas and Carne asada tacos. Reserva una mesa ahora
