Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. A hidden gem in Hackensack for a quick bite. On a trip back home, I was craving Turkish food. After a quick Yelp search, we landed on El Turco. Atmosphere: Quaint, quiet, and clean while we were there. As we came on a weeknight, the restaurant did not have a lot of patrons which was to our advantage. Service: Service was very good. this place serves the best Mediterranean food! delicious salads, including hummus, auberginensalate and babaganousch, and must have a pepper-nut salad. the carnivores reported that they loved the lamb kebab and the schish kebab the best, and I hear that the ayran is perfect (the Turkish tee, also there are many gluten-free and vegan options, including an amazing lens soup, sweet salads, filled weinrebeals and the above mentioned appetizers. served with pitas, rice and veggie sides. we'll be back soon. for dessert, the family got a variation of malabi (kreamy dessert) and a knafeh (kadaif noodles filled with sweet cheese) and said it is delicious. and the Turkish coffee was also perfect.
This place was great. Food was excellent, from meat platters to vegan options and dessert.zucchini pancake and mixed cold appetizers were awesome. Service was extremely attentive and accommodating. Tried this place for healthy date night and we absolutely loveddddd it! The price is perfect, this platter is usually $45 and we both ate and had left overs! We were also taking our time, loved that we didn't feel rushed. At one point we did feel a little neglected but when we ordered dessert they gave us free tea for the wait. Will definitely go back!

we have eaten in several Turkish restaurants, but this was excellent and the owner joseph was eager to please. we ordered on basic past restaurants and this rose above the other.

Apparently new owners who were not even there. Lamb over cooked, falafel burned, one dish never made it to the table Use to be a good restaurant. Would not recommend it now
