I absolutely loved the attention to detail as soon as I walked into the restaurant. The crown molding and elevator gave off a Great Gatsby vibe, and there was not a single boring corner in sight. The outdoor seating area was spacious and beautiful, but the tables could use some rearranging to avoid having one party facing the sun for the entire meal. Despite that, the food was really good and the portions were generous. I do wish the dessert menu offered a wider variety of options, but I thoroughly enjoyed the moist carrot cake with visible nuts in it. I highly recommend trying their 48-hour soy sugar-cured pork belly - it was amazing, with the fat melting in your mouth and a delicious sweet...
Be prepared to wait, being a Friday night it took 25-30 minutes for anything to arrive or have anyone come to our table. Drinks were good (darling watermelon sugar). The menu is very limited. The spicy shrimp was great as an appetizer/starter. When itcame time for our entrées, we had to wait a while for our food and our check. The filet was flavorful made medium rare it wasmelting with each bite, so good! Now the summer pasta was one of the saltiest I?ve ever had, I added chicken since it does notcome with any protein, I could not eat it!! The saltiness overpowered everything. Food was pretty good but not amazing particularly because of the price. Steak, sea bass were not worth the $46 and $44 respectively. The pork belly app and bread/butter are great.Cocktails were very good, but again $15 bucks a pop. Is this San Francisco? $11 for a Scrimshaw?Sorry, hate to make this about price, but if you're going to charge this, it's gotta be great. It's a very cool outdoor rooftop venue, but the service is slow and a little clunky, and the food is simply good.Wine list is priced very well!Anyway hate to make this seem negative, but they need to step it up a bit to justify the cost.
The Elderwood is a rooftop restaurant bar atop the Darling Hotel. It is located in the middle of downtown Visalia and close to restaurants. It has a classy indoor area and two outdoor decks that overlook the city. They have an interesting selection of drinks that can be enjoyed while sitting outside under shade. It was well worth the visit.

The rooftop setting is lovely with a great view of the mountains and countryside. The service was spotty at best. The seafood pasta was excellent as was the Thai shrimp. Great wine list. We completely enjoyed our meal and highly recommend this restaurant.
Our Mother's day lunch was one to remember. It was my mother and mother in laws first time and the service was wonderful. The food was worth every minute waiting, exquisite experience. Thank you to the wonderful manager Mariah and her team.
Very disappointed- had a reservation for the patio and arrived to be told they had moved us and didn’t have a table anymore. We talked to the restaurant manager as well as hotel manager and no one was willing to do anything.
We had such a lovely evening (Friday, Nov on the patio! Their Seafood Risotto was so delish! The fire pit and cozy seating provided such nice ambiance to our dinner experience!

Our party enjoyed the salmon, rack of lamb and seafood pasta. Followed by a pot de creme dessert. absolutely delightful!
