If you are in the D C area you need to go here. Why? As other reviewers have stated, service can be slow and/or spotty...... but that's because they are insanely busy because the food is so good. *They have an expansive outdoor patio. *They have a huge indoor footprint. *The fish and chips is just to die for. The battered fish is as big as the plate and fried to perfection. *The tarter sauce is home made. *The slaw is very lightly mixed with scallions andcilantro. It is light and delicate and uniquely delicious. *They are open continuously (many restaurants close at 2 or 3 then reopen for dinner at 5) *The bread pudding is spot on. You will regret not trying it. Made of challah with aperfect...

I’m not sure if the A/C was out, or just not working very well. It was HOT inside. My husband and I were sweating just sitting there. I also spent over 15 minutes trying to wave down our waitress so we could pay. I wouldn’t have minded if we were comfortable. But it was super hot and sweaty and we had a show to get to around the corner at the Warner Theater. I don’t blame her. She was hustling! But I’m not sure if they spread her too thin or they were understaffed. Food was tasty, but unremarkable. We have places near the Warner Theater we like a lot better, so we probably won’t be back.
This was our 3rd trip here and while the food is really good, my portion this time was small. I got the chicken pot pie and actually was thrilled that it wasn?t cooked in the dough but instead a tasty, flaky crescent square was placed on top of the pot pie ingredients. My husband got the Shepherds Pie which he loved and which had a normal portion. Overall, for me it was a delicious meal but I left a little hungry. We dined on 1/22/22 and had to show ID with proof ofvaccination.
Ok food and service. We stopped here for lunch. Started off with chips and 3 different sauces. It was good. We got **** Marys which were a bit watered down. My daughter enjoyed the appetizer meal sausage patties. My salad was just ok. It could use a bit more salad dressing and my husband had the sample of different pies. It was nothing to rave about. Great location with a nice bar! Reserva una mesa ahora
Food was excellent! Chose E&C for our 28th anniversary. It was non-hospitable since we entered. Hostess non-engaging. Service very, very slow. Had to ask for water, water refills, soda refills. Surprised that the manager didn’t even visit any tables let alone ours. One minor issue is there was no air conditioning. It was no cooler than the shade and it was humid inside.
I’ve been here three times now for work lunch meetings and each time the service and staff have been fantastic. Definitely recommend reservations as the place fills up fairly quickly with tourists. The food prices are also excellent give how expensive restaurants can be in DC. This is a definite gem and well worth the visit.
Great location with a nice pub atmosphere. We had a Cajun Chicken Wrap with French Fries and Chicken Fingers with Onion Rings. Both dishes were very tasty. Our waiter was very short with us but we noticed that he was rather chatty with everyone else. That felt pretty weird but we decided not let it bother us.
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. Our server Dewey provided excellent service, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was lively, although a bit messy on a busy Saturday night. If you find yourself in DC, be sure to check out this place. The pretzels with beer cheese were especially tasty! Reserva una mesa ahora
Great food. Really nice and confident staff. Terrific location. And super fun patrons. Can’t wait to go back.
It was 95 degrees outside the restaurant and 95 degrees inside. Need a little air conditioning with my meal.
