what a fantastic bakery! the window display was amazing and eating in the offer looked all incredible. we ordered a lemon drizzle, backwell, toffee and date rascal and curd tart. the lemon drops were very delicious and had a beautiful texture. the baked slice tasted amazing. the cursed tars were a little disappointing, as they baked and the baked was quite thick. but the toffee and date racquet was sensational, the best shaky I have ever tasted! definitely worth going for the racial and other products.

We went to the shop in Skinner Street as my friend wanted to buy some biscuits etc as gifts. Unfortunately the tea room above was closed, but we were directed to the smaller shop on Baxtergate. I had crab sandwiches, with a generous amount of crab. My friend had jacket potato with prawns and Marie Rose sauce, which she declared was the best she had ever had. Service was prompt and staff friendly. Some tables are quite close together and it felt a bit cramped, but that is a minor point.

I have no complaints about the sponge cake and hot chocolate I ordered, but the American influence in this country is just terrible. Customers were addressed as "you guys", repeatedly asked if everything was okay, and now the credit card machine prompts for a tip. The tea room on Skinner Street is nice enough, but I have no intention of returning.

Wonderful! The food and service were excellent as always. The decor was beautifully styled with a mix of vintage and contemporary vibes. The menu selection was perfect. We visited the tearoom through the back. Traditional tea room selling traditional food (large portions) many tea options. Great service and great food all made by botham's.

fantastic bakery. good expensive and damn tasty. why on earth men would go into the chain around the corner if that is beyond me. friendly staff and great atmosphere

A lovely tearoom run by friendly staff. The food was delicious and generous portions. Cake was delicious! A much better option than a coffee shop chain.
