We went to Embassy@97 (weird name given it is at 147 Nelson Place) at around 6.30pm on 15/10/16. The restaurant claims to be French but I have to say that, other than the cheap French flags, the was little of that feel to it and is not really reflected in the menu choices. Which is not really an issue for us, we just like good food regardless of its origins. But, for some who really like French food and expect that this is what they will see, it would be a disappointment. If you a a French foodie you should avoid. We purchased a Groupon for this meal and we were a little surprised that we could get a Saturday booking. The restaurant itself was less than half full when we arrived and the numb...

Very disappointing dinner, not at all French and less-than-average in taste/ quality. Bad enough to spur me on to write a review. I had the duck à l'orange, which was way too sweet and tasted like an entire jar of cheap marmalade had been dumped on the overcooked duck. My partner had the ravioli, which wasn't as bad as the duck, but definitely not worth the price. The kids shared the John Dory fillet but the kitchen was out of John Dory so we got snapper instead, and while it was meant to be a fillet, there were many bones in it - if it was meant to have bones, it would've been nice to have been given fair warning especially since the waitress knew that our kids (aged 9 and 2) would be eatin...

We chose Embassy@97 as we had not tried it. I have worked in Melbourne for a number of years and still travel there several times a year. I usually end up one night a trip in Williamstown and know most of the restaurants. For some reason I had not been to [email protected] general the food was not bad though the menu did not reflect what was offered on the menu:- they had no chicken for any of the chicken dishes. - the lamb cutlets with a gravy was more like dry lamb roast slices with gravy, not deconstructed lamb cutlets nor lamb fillet. - there were only 2 red wines on offer and the waiter did not know that the "cheaper" $45 was out of stock. The solution was to buy $60 wine with no discount o...

When this cafe first opened the staff had some inkling of what a French cafe was meant to be, however the current staff have no idea. We both ordered plain croissant with jam and coffee, the coffee was more like coffee flavoured hot milk and the croissant was nothing that resembled a French croissant. It had been sliced in half and toasted flat, just no understanding that a croissant is meant to be serviced warm and crisp, not toasted flat. When the waiter asked if we enjoyed the coffee and croissant, I responded that I was very disappointed and didn't enjoy it at all, I told him we had previously been to have coffee but this time it was so bad that we would not be coming back. He made no ef... Reserva una mesa ahora

I'm a local resident and have been meaning to try out Embassy@97 for ages as it looks lovely outside. Being May (and chilly) we chose to eat inside for our evening meal. The decor needs a big overhaul. A few flags and prints doesn't give French ambience. The staff were friendly but the food was very average. Strange tasting French onion soup, not like what I've had in France. Mussels were good but not the best. The wine list wasn't extensive and tasted average too. Not the best restaurant but not the worst. Saying that, I probably won't go back for a meal but maybe just a coffee in the morning as it's a nice setting.

On a rainy day we wandered into Embassy@97 and were greeted by a very friendly and helpful waitress. Sitting by the window over looking the sea we immediately felt comfortable. The menu wasn't extensive, however, we all were able to find something suitable to our tastes. The creme brulee was the stand out dish. Coffee and hot chocolates were steaming and very good.

We enjoy coming to this restaurant for breakfast/brunch like it was on Monday. We were enjoying tasty omelettes and beautiful view, and suddenly some people from council came and disturbed our meal, they went to the bar like it was their house, so disappointing. We don't have any complain on the food ever, so it was unfair to do so to this restaurant.

It's Friday night 19:40, yacht clubs, the seaside (sort of), nice long esplanade, overlooking Melbourne's city skylight, and there are only 4 diners in a 40-50 seats restaurant, us and another couple. What is wrong? Set up within a heritage building on the Esplanade, Blue...More Reserva una mesa ahora
