We were invited by a friend who had been posted in Bern for some years and liked this restaurant. We have no idea what the bill was. The salads were delicious and my wife enjoyed her steak but I was badly disappointed by the steak tartare which was not au couteau i.e. finely chopped but simply ground like a hamburger. It was sticky, gelatinous, and almost disgusting. The toasts that came with it were rather horrid white bread and no garlic was provided. No decent restaurant should dare to serve that. My wife had a very indifferent omelette soufflée ; my crème brûlée was O.K. but nothing worth writing home about. We were welcomed by a very pleasant young woman who was replaced (to our loss) b...
The entrecote is simply amazing, so don't forget the Cafe de Paris sauce. Straccartella ice cream is 100% worth it, it has lots of very large chocolate pieces in it...miammmiiii The service is very professional, we like to come back whenever we are in Bern! in any case the best restaurant we have eaten in the Swiss! the sirloin steak was wonderfully tender, juicy and tasteful. the cute sides were also perfect, especially the spinat. a bit expensive as the rest of Switzerland, but the price-performance ratio was very good.
