Enzos Cucina Restaurant

Decided to try Enzo's Cucina in Chipping Norton, as we've passed it several times and kept saying we wanted to give it a try.Before arriving, we'd had mixed reviews from different people about the restaurant but went with an open mind.We arrived on a Saturday, just after 5pm without a reservation. Nobody was in the restaurant at this point and we were told that a table was available but only till 7pm. This was fine as it was myself, my husband and our 20 month old son. We sat down at our table. A waiter arrived and asked us about drinks, as we only had just sat down we asked for water. I couldn't put a zero rating, 1 was the lowest you can go. I have never written a bad review about anything before but this was exceptionally bad.We got to Enzo's at 7.25pm for our 7.30pm booking. We were seated at the entry where customers are standing to pick up their takeaway, pay their bill or wait to be seated. At one stage my partner had a person waiting for their takeaway, leaning on the back of his chair. That's how close we were to the entry. The noise in the restaurant was uncomfortably deafening. We went for a family birthday celebration My favorite starter is the garlic crust straight out of the wood fire oven it is yumMy dad & I had the fillet steak: perfectly cooked to medium rare. The menu does not tell you it comes with roast potatoes & vegetables. We orders mash & Greek salad as sides and we probably didn't need them. We did finish them though as they were delicious!My mum had the pinos lamb shank it is under entrees but she found it big enough as a mains. Firstly the service is terrible. I ordered a coke, at the same time as the rest of the table and they forgot it. No problem, I nicely let them know and they say sorry will bring it to you now. 10 mins pass no drink I have to ask again and finally they bring it.When I finish my drink i order another and the same thing happens again!It was like getting blood from a stone. As for the food, yeah the servings are generous but generous serves if bad food is not a score. My food was bland and tasteless and the prawns were like rubber.All in all it was a terrible experience and I will never go back. You're much better off going to Gemmeli's down the road. Great restaurant otherwise for some of the other dishes however that day I ordered a takeaway for Chicken Rissotto along with some other dishes and they screwed it up badly. They gave us a vegetarian Rissoto which we didnt order ( which was replaced ) however the chicken rissotto was only half container full so I asked it to be topped up and after some brief argument they did that however when I saw how the rissotto was cooked I didnt feel like eating as it was basically stir fried with some cooled rice, cream, cooked chicken and cheese in the pan...I was expecting it would have been slow cooked in the afternoon with all the ingredients..

i have been gere a few times now, they always have great food and service, i have been to there other store at kemps creek as well and i have to say the food is consistant. i know they have expanded a few more stores now and wish them all the success as they never disapoint.

I love Enzo's so much. The waiters and waitresses are so polite. The food is amazing. Although service may be slow at times, the generosity of the serving size makes up for it. The desserts are absolutely amazing as well. I highly recommend the sticky-date pudding.

This is our local go to restaurant for special occasions. Not cheap but we have found the quality high with great service. It is noisy however!

Tough between 4 and 5 stars! I would give this place 4.5 stars if I could cause I have been here twice before and I must say, very consistent.
