The low rating for this place is not justified...It is absolutely delicious<br/ I tried the potato latke and six pierogis with sour cream for under $5. What a great dealio!<br/ <br/ By the time I got there, they were low on pierogis and I managed to get the last potato latke. The potato latke was not crispy and was just a little mushy. I could tell it was sitting there for a little while and they didn't bother to make any more. <br/ That's why I had to dock a half star.<br/ The service there was friendly and the food was even better. It hit the spot.<br/ I'm coming back so my friends so they may be just as impressed as I was.
We frequently buy their homemade cabbage rolls, both the meat and the vegetarian rolls, which we take home for dinner. Their crab stuffed white fish in a béchamel sauce is a handy dish for a small but elegant party meal. We have also ordered vegetarian lasagna to serve our daughter-in-law a sumptuous meal when we cook a roast for the meat eaters in our family. You can order single meal size portions of interesting Ukrainian food to eat on the picnic tables or seat around St. Lawrence Market.
I came here just for the perogies.It was my first ever perogies and they tasted MAMAMIA!!! Délicieux!!!!I ordered both flavours in a set of 6 pieces, 3 pieces of each flavour.One of which is the veal perogies, and the other is the potato+cheese.I will definitely go back there again on my next trip to Toronto. Anyway, St Lawrence Market is my heart's best tourist destination for now. ^~^
Excellent perogies, cabbage rolls (divine), and lots of other European delights. I often go to pick up something I need for a dinner party. They won't tell, and neither will I. I have never had anything I didn't like. Good cutlets, soups, and whatever they have that day. There are tables elsewhere in the market where you can eat, if you can't wait to make it home. Whenever possible near st Lawrence market I drop in here for some of the best baguettes possible and a pastry. Always busy and crazy in the place and hard to get your favourite breads unless your there early in the morning. This day I got the last loaf and a black forest pastry. I could not wait and as usual, lots of butter.
They sell frozen pierogies dumplings of different flavours but for warm pierogies only veal or potato cheese are available. 1 dozen for $7 and half dozen for $5.50. We asked for 1 dozen but half potato cheese and half veal. Potato cheese is flavourful but veal is not. They sell various eastern European food
I am always ready for hot fresh perogies and this is a place to get them in the St. Laurence Market. I only wish they had more flavor options, the day we where in that they had cheddar and liver... I asked if she would heat up some of the cottage cheese one's but said she could not do that.
The ratings are surprisingly for this gem of a place in the basement of the St. Lawrence mkt. They have a huge variety of mainly east european classics like pierogies, cabbage rolls and blintz. The prices are very affordable and the food is quite authentic. Reserva una mesa ahora
