We were looking for a place to eat relatively quickly and cheaply before going to the cinema, and this place was just the ticket. The food was good, the portions were HUGE - watch out, unless you have a really big appetite, or have not eaten for 2 days, you might find that a starter and a main course is too much to handle, and the bill was very reasonable for 2 people - 76 euros for 2 courses and a bottle of Basque wine. Service was very good, despite the fact that there was also a large group in the restaurant that evening. Great find; we'll be going back.
I visited Euskadi for a winter lunch before Christmas with two friends. We all ordered from the three course menu, and then shared the dishes between our party. I ordered the shrimp risotto for entree, duck for mains (with accompanying roast vegetables,) and creme catalan for dessert, all of which was superb. As was everythning that the others ordered. The house wine plus bread accompanying the meal was also very tasty.
The restaurant now calls the chamoine Very pretty terrace treed and shaded. The kitchen is excellent, with products that seem to be of quality, we have enjoyed it. The plates were very beautiful. The servers were very pleasant, although very busy, with a little wait for the service, we felt the desire to do well. A high chair in good condition is available, which is a plus. In short, we recommend!
Now the Chamoine. Same principle with local cuisine. Good relationship quality taken but bad organisation in the kitchen: 1 hour waiting between the order and the service of the dishes... it's a shame. fortunately the staff is nice, especially Maelle the waitress very smiling and full of good mood (although the waiting situation of the customers...
