I ordered the shawarma sandwich and falafel bowl with hummus. Both dishes were excellent, but I highly recommend the shawarma sandwich. It was also surprisingly affordable. However, when I asked the cashier to confirm that my falafel bowl was vegan, he assured me that everything they served was vegan (which I later found out was not true based on their website). The menu displayed at the counter indicated that the falafel white sauce contained mayo, and online some sauces were labeled with a "v" while others were labeled as vegan. It is one of the most affordable meals in DC, with a hearty falafel sandwich priced at $4-5 and a variety of delicious sauces to choose from. The falafel salad is perfect for lunch, with tasty additions, and the Zaatar fries are fantastic. The mall location serves meals quickly, with freshly made falafel and delicious bread. I can see why this place was rated in yelps Top 100 places to eat!I got the Rice Shawarma Bowl and the Zaatar Fries. I can't begin to describe how good this food was. I swear i was eating a steak bowl, but it's all vegan meat! I was only upset my stomach has a reduced space! If not I would have ordered another bowl!Service workers were very polite and quick to clear out a huge crowd.You MUST try this place! Definitely try their HABIBI sauce as well, honestly ties everything together.You definitely get your money's worth and more!
Oh my goodness, the food at this restaurant is incredible and the prices are great! I got a salad bowl with falafel for only 6 dollars! That's insane! They have a wide variety of sauces available, making it totally worth it. The service was incredibly fast, only taking 3 minutes. The ambiance is nice as well, located on the bottom floor of Tyson's in the mall. I visited during weekday work hours, so it was easy to find a table. The service at this restaurant was good. They freshly fried falafel right in front of me. It's a small store located next to Cinnabon. I was pleasantly surprised by the spiciness and flavor of the falafel sandwich. I'm not sure if the sauce was added automatically, so it would have been nice to be informed beforehand. The price of $5 was great, but the pita bread seemed to be lacking in quantity. I would consider going back to try the $6 bowl instead.
This restaurant is fully vegetarian, but some of their sauces are not vegan. The website clearly distinguishes between vegan and non-vegan sauces, as mentioned in another Happy Cow review. When I ordered a vegan falafel sandwich and asked for it to be vegan, I didn't feel confident that they understood the distinction. Next time, I will order it without any sauce.
