This is the closest I have come to authentic New York Italian food! I have found that most Italian restaurants in Los Angeles serve sauces that are too sweet, which is not typical of Italian cuisine - it's more like Creole. I understand it, but I don't like it. My husband and I moved here 2 years ago. He is from Chalmette but lived in New York for 31 years. I miss my New York pizza, bagels, and Italian food. We have tried many restaurants, but none have come close to Fazzio's. I had veal parmigiana with angel hair pasta - the cutlets were nice and thin, fried to perfection. My husband had fried shrimp stuffed with crab meat - not exactly Italian, but still very good. The red sauce was not sw...
they were not very accommodating to my grandmother with parkinsons, there was a whole 5-minute talk about why we can not order the caprese salad with crab cake, but we can order it separately (I still don't understand the difference, we were served exactly what we tried to order, only on separate plates for a higher price.) eating well than the Italian restaurants were serving. it's not a bad place, I just feel like they're charging more for a well-furnished restaurant and their options are limited. everyone was mostly respectful, and it was a good experience, but I will stay at other places close to eating.
Today Chip Gardner and I had a Christmas celebration to thank the real estate agents who referred us business in 2023. George and his team at the restaurant were amazing! quite disappointed by today's experience, in which her calfs is very tender and tonight it was very hard. when I told the owner, he didn't seem too much to care about and I suggested that they knock their prep cook the kalbs. as I said, it's really very good in that, so tonight was only one night for her. go to intimate dinner with woman or family celebrations since 1992. always on the list of places to take our extra-city guests to dinner. a north coast gemach. many family dinners here and no one was unhappy with their meal, from appetizers to desserts. highly recommended!
