Our family of five lunched here on Saturday 9th July 2017. Our meal comprised the following:Entrée: Chickpea Patties (Waddai) – 8 small patties with raita dip. Patties were mildly spicy and steamy hot beneath the crust.Salt & Pepper Squid with Chips – for the infant in our party.Drinks:Apple Juice.Coconut Juice which had to be emptied into a glass from a can.Bundaberg Ginger Beer.Wood Apple (Diwul) – pulpy with a pleasant, nourishing taste.Falooda – jelly and basil seeds in pink rose-syrup milkshake with a dollop of vanilla ice-cream. Quite refreshing and tasty.Mains:Traditional Lamb Curry - very savoury and not too spicy, with chunky pieces of lamb.Coconut Rice and Saffron Rice – surprising...

My wife and I went to Fire & Spice for the very first time to sample their Sunday Night Buffet on 12 March 2017. The restaurant itself was smallish and extended onto the covered walkway outside the entrance for alfresco dining. As we had pre-booked, we were shown to our table for two inside the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. From the selection of buffet dishes available that night, we opted to try the following: Entrée: Waddai (chickpea patties) - a tad harder than what we were accustomed to, but went quite well with the spicy katta sambol (chilli & Maldive fish paste). Vegetarian spring rolls - were crispy and fresh and the fillings were quite yummy.Mains: String Hoppe...

Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant.I can vouch that no other restaurant would treat customers like this.I was with my partner for the All you can eat buffet last weekend.Mind you nobody eats free at a restaurant.I was having my dinner and left my first plate on the side to be collected, the lady owner came to me and asked if I had finished eating and I said yes.She took the plate and said "Don't waste food and I hate to throw away food."This was just so harsh and I just kept quiet as I was in a shock. It was just 3 little pieces of chicken that I had left on the plate which was so bland and tasteless. It's none of her business if I left the whole plate with food as I had paid for it...

My wife and I dined here again on Thursday 18th May 2017. This time round, we decided to try their Lamprais and String Hopper Meal. Our drinks were Sri Lankan Spiced Coffee. The Lamprais had brinjal moju, and small scoops of chicken and meat curry (it was a bit hard to distinguish between the beef and lamb) on a lumped bed of spiced savoury rice on a small circular-cut banana leaf on a plate. There were a few baby spinach leaves, lettuce leaves, julienned carrot, a fish cutlet and what appeared to be prawn blachan. It was quite similar in appearance, texture and taste to coconut sambol. The dish was garnished with roasted cashew nuts. The rice was really hot and spicy and the curries and moju... Reserva una mesa ahora

We went here on a quiet night recently, and arrived a bit late after an eventful and horrendous trip across town, but we were welcomed, and got a good table within the range of the air conditioning and the good lighting. The young man who took care of us was friendly and unflappable. He was also very helpful with our ordering. The food, billed as Sri Lankan, was noticeably better than the usual tired Indian meals available round town. He toned down the fire in the curry for us a bit, but it was still pleasantly spicy. They were good sized serves, with the meat pieces big enough to be identified. We ate our fill and I don't know for sure whether we were charged corkage, but it only cost us $25...

Went here after returning from Sri Lanka. Tasty food but definitely overpriced. A single curry would have literally two pieces of meat for $15-17. It has potential but missing the "homely Sri Lankan rice-and-curry" feel.

Authentic Sri Lankan food. The atmosphere was warm, cozy and friendly. Bottles of ice cold water freely available. Tash, the smiling and helpful waiter, made sure we had water at our table. (You need it with spicy food!).

Tasty spicy food. Good selection of vegetarian dishes. Considering that prawns were off the menu & the goat got away, still plenty of choice..friendly staff. Reserva una mesa ahora
