First & foremost this place was one of 3 places not on Yelp ... i couldn't beleive it!! The expensive hardware store or the vet next door was in Yelp before this place hahah obviously peoples mind set isn't in the right place lolThis steak house is tucked away in an almost one way back street of Mortdale :)! Its close to the pub which only locals stick too & is also really close to the well known Mortdale Bike shed. People probably not aware of this place cause its only open from 12pm on fridays & Saturdays and every other day is open fron 5pm.As soon as you walk into the restaurant you notice all the old school Fire station memorabilia hung up all over the walls :)!! Terrific and varied menu catered for all tastes. The steaks were cooked to perfection to each persons liking, the chicken schnitzel was fantastic - I was nervous when I ordered it because it is usually deep fried with lots of "batter" - not so at the Firehouse Grill, it was very tasty with a light coating, the lamb shanks were also great. So much to choose from this menu that we will be back. The restaurant was full when we were there on a recent Friday night and with a big group of ladies on another table it was very noisy. They were turning customers away. How come we have not been there before we keep asking ourselves? Will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes - all the meal...
I am a member of a social group that meets occasionally for a catch up over lunch. We are regular visitors to the Firehouse Grill and over the years, have made it our restaurant of choice for our Christmas luncheon.The food is varied and interesting, offering excellent quality and value. The staff have always been very accommodating and work hard to ensure that our day out continues to be such a success.Having the BYO option is very handy and if corkage is charged, I'm sure it is negligible. Our social group will definitely be returning to the Firehouse Grill in 2017.
My son has moved to the area .. Tuesday nights we have dinner together rather than him come us we went to him where he suggested we try Firehouse ...We ordered the shared entree platter everything on it was so good ..!!! Especially the pork bellyI ordered the Guinness hot pot Pie ... I didn't want it to end ..My husband the Kiev and my son the Rib Eye steak everything was amazing so good.Home cooked comfort food It's warm and inviting. Fire fighter memorabilia on the walls and a video with fire men in action on the TV.We can't wait to go back ..!!It's BYO

We wanted to try this place for a while as it is sort of close to home. Made a booking on Friday night and we were pleasantly surprised. The place is quite small but if you make a booking you won't miss out. The menu is full of variety, and will please everyone. They do cater for families so can be a bit noisy with kids but really the atmosphere is what makes it. An old fire station transformed into a restaurant. I recommend trying their steaks. Prices are reasonable, portions are great and you can BYO. We will be back!
4 of us ate here last Saturday night and we were all very impressed with the food and service. For entrees we had Seafood hotpot, fried squid, lamb ribs and nachos. All were delicious! Mains were Guinness pie with slow cooked beef, Duck, and Steak sandwich. The Guinness pie was a standout. All meals were generous so dessert didn't even get a look in. Service was friendly and efficient and the ambience was great. Will be back for sure. Being byo made it the perfect restaurant.
Really classy menu. Steak cooked to everyones liking. Melted in my mouth. Great atmosphere. All patrons joined in singing happy birthday. Prices reasonable for the quality. Byo was a good point. Lovely fire station items all through. Staff very friendly and helpful. Booking essential on Sat night. Would definitely go again.
A drive to Mortdale found us this buzzing little place. The food was amazing. Service was excellent and each meal was delicious. Honestly could not fault any dish. A shared entree to experience multiple delights. Would definitely revisit.

We always come here on tuesdays as they have a 15 dollar steak deal and the meat is tender and chips are also yummy.service from the staff are always with a smile and great with the kids.Give this place a go and you won't regret it.
Excellent atmosphere great attentive service fantastic menu great food and very reasonably priced and byo. I will be back. The fillet Mignon was one of the best I have had.
