First Street Haven

Visited Seattle and came to breakfast on Friday morning. I expected standard 'American Diner' breakfast quality (i.e. expectations were not very high), but to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised. While the menu looks normal, the food was definitely much better than your average diner. Ordered a French country Scramble and it was very well cooked with a generous amount of fillings. The hash seemed to use freshly grated potatoes and was perfectly grated with a beautiful crunchy, without being fat. It's the best boiled hash I had last year. Server was so nice and the food was fantastic! I got the French toast with berries and was blown away with how good it was! The Chai was your typical milk with Zimtchai, but you can't expect much more in places that are not Indian restaurants. Our group members who ordered the omelets were happy with their food. The room was a little tight this morning. Overall, highly recommended!

The meal was egg-celled! The staff was great. We travel through and try to make the ferry, and there were no difficulties getting our meals at short notice. The dark roast coffee was hot and soooo good! You can also go for a coffee!

Great service and food! Space itself is a bit cramped and difficult to maneuver. We had the Greek Salad, the Garlic Brie Grilled Cheese, and an Iced Chai all delicious. Our server was very kind and accommodating.
