I've encountered a frustrating issue with First Watch multiple times. They tend to disguise an overcooked pancake underneath a nicer-looking one. This time, I ordered delivery, and when I called to voice my complaint, the manager never returned my call. On another occasion at the restaurant, it took three attempts to get my order right: first, I received a completely burned pancake, then a gooey undercooked one, and finally a satisfactory one on the third try. I’m giving it two stars because when the food is good, it's really good. However, consistency is definitely lacking. The same goes for the potatoes; some days they're great, while other days they're poorly cooked.
Everything has been fantastic, except for the coffee—it tastes more like cold milk. I prefer to have cream and sugar, but still want to actually taste the coffee. I'd like to request less cream and more sugar, but unfortunately, there's no option for that. It’s quite frustrating, to be honest. When you're spending a good amount of money, you should be able to customize your coffee to your liking. The only reason I might consider changing my routine is because having the right coffee is crucial for my successful mornings.
The food is here SO good. I've yet to have something I didn't love. The buttered grits are my favorite, I break some of the bacon (which is always crispy and perfect) in it and some of the eggs. Best breakfast ever. The roast beef sandwich is also amazing, the meat is super tender and all of the flavors just pop. Love love love this place
The waffles are incredible, and the bacon is thick and delicious! However, the farmhouse hash was disappointing, with too many burnt potatoes and not enough bacon flavor. It used to be a favorite of mine, but unfortunately, it hasn't been as good as it once was.
