To stay in Longview for the first time, so we had to try. The staff was warm and friendly, but the food was just okay. We both have the $18 fishing plate. The dough lacked taste, but the filled shrimps and crab cakes were pretty good. I had some grilled or the crucible Etouffee, the night was better. Flowering onion was not completely boiled in the middle, but the rest of it tasted ok, although a little too oily for me. I was impressed by the variety of TYPES from seafood (cranes, fish, shrimps, oysters, mussels, crabs, frog legs and more... even the elusive Soft Shell crab for $24 . I don't know if it's highly rated because it's the best in the area, or the great staff, or since the locals definitely love it... But when an unbiased food-loving couple just went through, I was really disappointed. For what WE got, we both had the feeling that the prices and rating for the quality of the food were somewhat too high. (See photo for what gets almost $50 in food ya. I noticed a rather extensive a la carte section. Looks like a good way to get a better food for less dough. A little about the mood: it is extremely casual, comfortable and perfect for families. Tea shirts and flip-flops are welcome here, it is very casual. I would probably not suggest it for an out-of-town date night as there is really no room for romantic moments. This is based on a non-local opinion. We LOOVE try the favorite local joints while we travel all fover Texas. The Fisherman's Market in Longview, Texas is a beautiful little place to eat with fried food. Go for the staff, the variety of seafood options, and the family friendliness.
