Grande Prairie has a large number of the same type food outlets...so we thought we'd try Five Guys only because it was next to Homedepot (shopping there). Being our 1st visit, lady at the counter was polite, gave us a run down, choose your base burger then from a list, choose your toppings. Like that idea, instead of picking out bits to throw away! Like the open kitchen, you can see what the staff do and how clean it is.... Staff seemed to work well on the line they have going...food moved quite quickly to the bagging area.. LIKE that they had Malt vinegar ! The burger was ok, not too greasy, maybe a little bland, but when you make a choice of toppings, add some zing if you like !! The fries...
I love 5 Guys chain. For a chain it's the next best thing to Triple O's. the fries are fresh cut potatoes and they pile them over the bag. It's a bit pricey for the burger, but an order of the fries are enough to feed 2 or 3 people. You can choose all of your toppings and the burgers all come with 2 patties unless you ask for something else. Everything tastes very fresh. I felt guilty as it was late and I came in literally 1 minute before closing. They were already cleaning up, but happily fired everything back up and cooked my meal without complaint. OK, I'm not usually the squeamish type, but I almost threw up in my mouth when the staff started taking down the disgustingly filthy ceiling tiles right over the prep area and fry baskets full of raw french fries. We were in the middle of eating our lunch when the staff decided it was time to clean the ceiling tiles hadn't noticed how filthy they were until they started doing this. One of the cooks climbed a ladder and started removing the tiles. As he tipped one, a bunch of dead flies slid off the tile and fell down onto the prep area. SERIOUSLY?!?! They didn't cover anything!! We just got up and left and there's no way I'm ever going back there.
What a disappointment! My burger was tasteless and not to mention extremely small. Where 's the beef? I should have taken a picture, I ate half of my burger and the patty was gone. I still had half of a dried out bun, with lettuce, pickles and tomatoes and no patty left. I could have had a kids burger at the golden arches and had a bigger patty then that. My husband had a double patty and he had to put them side by side on the bun to make one patty so he had enough to cover the bun. I will not be returning...sorry to say. Reserva una mesa ahora
These guys know how to make fries and a great burger! I usually get the small burger but sometimes I splurge for a regular one. It actually tastes like good old beef. Not like most places these days. And the fries are really really good. I love New York Fries, but these are even better, in my opinion. Very highly recommended.
I needed a burger to satisfy my craving, hadn't been here in months possibly several, I like the burger with the works, fries are always fresh, soft drinks are help yourself, nothing fancy, red white decor (old school) bathrooms are usually clean, line up moves fast great system for fast service...
