Flavours of Mekong

After 6 months of my daughter pleading with me to have curry curry laksa, I reluctantly agreed, after trying it at a popular chad stone restaurant which failed to impress, so much so that at Mekong I ordered Singapore noodles(which I love but have also never found as good as in Sydney). Came here with my daughter's family for Mother's Day lunch yesterday and was pretty impressed with the dining experience. The mouth-watering menu is quite extensive, the dishes we ordered were authentic and delicious, the service was great and despite being disappointed when they had run out of cendol, I would not hesitate to dine here again, whenever I am in the area. Vyanne, the friendly young lady who waited on us, provided outstanding service with a smile and we even had the pleasure of a friendly chat with the Malaysian owner, Mr. Lim. I highly recommend this restaurant if you like reasonably-priced South-east Asian cuisine.

Sitting in traffic is not my idea of fun and i was hungry after a long day without breakfast or lunch. So i pulled over to try the mekong and wait for the traffic to clear. I ordered the wontons which were delivered promptly and were very tasty. A vietnamese coffee (a real one) was also delivered promptly, and was proper smokey coffee with sweetened condensed milk. A gigantic bowl of beef Pho followed - with all the tendons and tasty bits. The staff were friendly and efficient. I finished off with the creme caramel which was a lovely light way to end dinner.

Seeing the restaurant from far i couldn't say the food would be good - but it is! prices are also ok for a quick lunch meal and the Pho is very tasty and nice.Service is also good - tea was not hot but the manager brought right away a new tea bottle to the table replacing the "cold" one. I found this restaurant on Trip Advisor when searching for somewhere to dine in the Mitcham/Nunawading area. It lived up to expectations with delicious food and very friendly service. We all agreed to dine here again.

having been to Vietnam a few times this is the next best thing in the Eastern Suburbs the Soup is great value and the Basil Rice is hot stuff , quick and easy with no frills trhis is a great spot for cheep eats

Happy with the menu and delivery was prompt for takeaway order with a funny joke from delivery guy, we enjoyed the satay skewers, the vegetarian rice and beef salad, Vietnamese paper rolls, spring rolls...

Ordered the seafood laksa. The laksa flavour was excellent, but one prawn? Come on. So haven't gone back and won't. Very disappointing.

Enjoyed the Laksa and vegetarian Singapore Noodles. Friendly staff and clean setup. Simple unpretentious restaurant.
