This is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. The menu can be slow to change, which can be good or bad, but the food is very good. There are a couple considerations, though. Although Faroe Island salmon sounds hardcore, for example, it's farm-raised which means flavorless and flabby. Another example: the locally sourced mushrooms in the Pad Thai have no presence at all. Other items also sound better than they are. The beer is served penuriously. The 10 ounce pour looks to be five or six ounces and the higher gravity beers are served in four ounce cordial glasses, although they're described as soon ounces. Five stars without hesitation. I feel bad for the people that do not feel this way. We picked it because we wanted somewhere casual and fun and this place delivered in every respect. The food was fantastic, fun, locally sourced and delicious. Excellent and innovative without being pretentious. The beer selection was also very good. There was live music which normally is a negative for me but the volume was not too loud and it was really tastefully done and fit right in. I gave a rating of 4 because despite the not great service the food was delicious! The line was out the door so I can understand being busy but we pretty much had to flag down our waiter any time we needed something! The food was great however if you are looking for something rich and full of flavour! As well, the atmosphere was full of life and very exciting! They did a beautiful job with the decorations!
The patio is beautiful and the food was amazing. Service also rocked. They had healthy, fresh food with lots of options. I had a vegan noodle bowl and my partner had the salmon. Limited but sufficient beer selection. The menu was interesting and the food tasty. The bar has a nice ambience and is conducive for conversation. All in all it makes for a good place to drink, dine and chat. The duck wings were delicious. The pork belly was just right, not too fatty and goes well with the plum sauce.
