Michelin star food in an airy dining room. We have visited Forest Side many times and on occasion have not enjoyed the food and today was the best experience yet. The greeting, the menu and the ambience were second to none today. A far improved menu choice and every dish was so delicious and due to our picky nature they were happy to change one of the courses to make it a perfect lunch and the cheese course was so good too. Loved the leather wraps of cutlery too! Thank you to all the staff it was excellent.
We've just spent an amazing night to celebrate my wife's birthday. We visit Grasmere every year so we knew about The Forest Side and we really excited to be staying there. From check in when we arrived, everything was fabulous. The food is outstanding and the staff are so professional and friendly without being stuffy. We've already decided to return for our wedding anniversary in May next year. Thank you to all the team, you are all a credit to the hospitality industry.
What an amazing time we had from start to finish. The staff are amazing! Dean was lovely in the restaurant and a nice touch, the young chef coming out. Those lads will go a long way! Little touches like allergy free cake in our room, and iced water when we got back to our room. The food was superb and the hotel is beautiful. We can’t wait to go back!
I would definitely recommend this place. If you’re up for a Michelin Star experience in the Lakes. The Head Chef, Paul, was the head of The Burlington previously and designed our wedding menu... a very talented Chef!

Had the most wonderful afternoon taster lunch. Beautiful surroundings, amazing food, presentation second to none and super staff. We will make this our regular treat. Highly recommend a visit, the best yet.
Lovely two nights stay, with amazing food and fabulous service. This was our first outing since the Covid outbreak, but Forest Side had excellent precautions in place and felt safe throughout our stay.
We celebrated a birthday with lunch at The Forest Side today. A four course lunch which was delicious and perfect service. Thank you for a lovely experience.
