The reason for such a low review. Myself and my sister went along for a cuppy and a scone. We waited a few minutes to be shown to our table, which was fine. The girl took us to our table and gave it a wipe down, which we were happy about. We went to a table at the back, and we thought oh they will be over in a few minutes for our order. So another two couples came in after us, and low an d behold they were both getting there orders taken before us, which we seen as not right at all. The couple behind us I heard commenting on how long they had waited, and was told 30 minutes, and not one person took there order. She eventually had to go to the counter to order her meal, and they were not happ...
Great food but service poor. We ordered food then sat and sat waiting for someone to clear our plates, 20 mins, and order coffee and cakes. They would walk past us with empty trays after serving other people and just look at us as if we were invisible. I've done this kind of work and it was drummed into me to never return to the kitchen empty handed. They really need to get more organised with clearing tables and taking orders, there were 4 ladies serving so not short of staff. Shame as I know of others that have said the same and have been put off going back.
I love coming to this restaurant for the great food and service, especially during the week. However, my experience on Saturday was a disaster. The staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, with no clear structure for serving tables. We had to wait 20 minutes just to place our order, and three tables that arrived after us got their food before we did. In the end, we had to go up to the counter to order our food, and then waited another 25 minutes for it to arrive. We decided to skip dessert as we would have been there all afternoon waiting.
Service was more focused in meeting the needs of the elderly. The staff were professional but abrupt and lacked communication skills. It would also be helpful if there was clean instructions on how to get first aid or help when there is an emergency. Also we arrived as a table of 5 with 2 adults and 3 kids Kids went to play golf and we were asked to move from a table big enough for 4 to a table for 2 people as they were expecting to get busy and would need the bigger table

My husband, friend, and I frequently visit this restaurant in Forfar. We enjoy taking a quick stroll around Forfar Loch before stopping at the Golf driving range for lunch. Our go-to order is always the quiche and salad, which never disappoints. The salad is consistently fresh, and the homemade quiches are delicious. The service is great, and the staff are friendly. The restaurant is Covid-19 safe and very clean. It seems to be a popular spot for cyclists as well.
I recently revisited this wonderful restaurant known for its delicious food. The pea and ham soup I tried was excellent, although I had some doubts about the ingredients. The chicken mayonnaise had the perfect texture, with the mayo not overpowering the taste of the chicken. I ended the meal with a traditional Victoria sponge cake. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and the waitress was delighted to hear that her soup would be featured on my blog.
We arrived just before midday and although the restaurant was busy, we were quickly found a table. There's a nice selection of soups, paninis and baked potatoes on the menu with some interesting specials on the board too. Despite every table being filled, our order arrived quickly. Special mention to the staff who were friendly and efficient.
Lentil Bacon soup was a case of ....find the bacon. A distinct lack of pig was disappointing. Soup was decent enough in taste the Cheese Tuna sandwich was filling and tasty enough. Looked like the place was back to full capacity , resulting in a very noisy atmosphere. Which led to shouting to be heard.

Great golf range with plenty parking, The cafe is great and spacious with lots of menu choices for breakfast and lunch. Food was tasty. Will definitely be back.
Best meals we have had in a while My Family visited from Edinburgh and they are away stuffed and raving about our food will be back again
