France - Reservar una mesa

Drove all around Languedoc and although there is so much potential with beautiful countryside, the buildings are generally not well maintained on the exterior, even Lagrasse which holds an award of being one of France's prettiest town was a wasted visit with nothing to write home about. The locals I found friendly enough but not well dressed in general. Shame but seemed poorer than it is! I love beautiful architecture and France really doesn't make the most of the stunning buildings they have, letting them get lost among the majority of plain and worn ones. Amazing food and drink are the flipside of this country, known for raising some of the greatest chefs the pastries, fine dining and champagne and wine are all incredible and very cheap if you choose a local cuisine or tipple. Larger cities are better maintained, Paris is stunning and Toulouse is worth a visit.

This is a very lively bar with inside and outside seating, spilling into a beautiful medieval square in the centre ville. Be warned they only accept cash and do not serve cocktails, but it is highly recommended

Less than half hour drive from Carcassonne, La Carabene is located in the heart of very historic small town Limoux.
