One of the few remaining bakeries in New York City offers authentic Italian pastries. After steering clear of this place for the past three years due to poor quality under previous ownership, I was thrilled to discover it has new owners and the food is now fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised to find that their Italian cheesecake tastes almost identical to the one my mother made for 60 years! The cannoli are the freshest I've had in a long time—it's going to be hard to find better anywhere else. They make their own baked goods and use fresh ricotta cheese, resulting in truly delicious desserts just like you'd find in real Italian bakeries. Once again, Francis Lewis Pastry Shoppe has surpassed my expectations. A few weeks ago, my nephew's third-grade class went on a field trip. From the warm welcome and friendly staff to pastry chef John's behind-the-scenes demonstration, everything was perfect. The delicious paninis and gelato made for a great lunch, and my nephew still talks about how much he enjoyed the whole experience. It was a fantastic outing that both the teachers and students loved. I will definitely recommend this field trip idea to my daughter's teacher for next year!
Not only is their service outstanding, but their paninis and desserts are also the best in NYC. Even though I live over 10 miles away, I gladly make the trip just to enjoy their desserts—especially the gelato, cannolis, cake, and prosciutto bread. Whenever I visit friends and family, they always request that I bring treats from here. I’ve tried other bakeries that are old, dirty, and unappealing, but this place is by far the best in the area—and certainly the cleanest!

Everything that I have bought here from cookies to pastry to little treats is incomparable...this is the best bakery for Italian and French specialities...imaginative, gourmet offerings...the absolute finest anywhere--including Manhattan.
OMG. The best pignole cookie I've ever had. YOu can drive around Flushing and find no more beautiful family bakery. My mother turned me to them after she had her red velvet cake, which was great!!
