Frankie's Fish And Chip Cafe And Takeaway

We called the night before to book a table for 6pm for 2. We were asked if we could make it for 5.45 but due to ferry times we would be nearer 6. We were told this was ok. Unfortunately our ferry was a few minutes late and when we arrived we were very rudely told the cafe closed at 6 what eating establishment closed at 6pm? but if we ordered at the counter we could sit in. We were then glared at by the staff even though the establishment closed at 7 it was made clear that they were getting ready to leave at 7. Shame as the food was nice but felt we had to rush it down, was it explained in the phone call we would have made alternative plans.

What a find, this fish restaurant takeaway in Mainland Shetland should be on everyone’s to do list that visits these islands. Spotlessly clean, a very wide variety and friendly helpful service make this a must do. Loads of parking, sit in or take away, your choice, but just make sure that you get here!

This was excellent, you can choose whether to have your fish battered or bread crumbed, which is not always the case in other establishments, it was well cooked, good portions and absolutely delicious. One of the highlights of our trip.

Quality poor snd very small portions. Fish was all batter and no fish, chips were few a far between, also considering they were cooked fresh not very hot. Also pricy to say the least. Much better chips a da harbour in Lerwick.

Well worth the drive from Lerwick. Scallops in batter delicious, as was homemade mushy peas and slaw. Fabulous views too.
