I chose to treat my mother to an early Mother’s Day dinner here, as I heard so many wonderful things through word of mouth. I made my reservation online and it was swift and easy! I was then emailed closer to our date to confirm. Walking in we were just amazed by the cozy atmosphere the vibe of the time period they captured in each room we walked through to our table. From hostess to waitresses every staff in between we felt so welcome and everyone was very attentive, friendly, polite in every way. This was the best meal I've eaten in the state of New Jersey. The food quality is comparable to favorite steak houses of mine like Sparks or the Striphouse in New York or Del Frisco's or Capital Grill in Philadelphia (minus the ambience and City vibe) .My server was fantastic. The hostess was accommodating and she my reservation for me the day of and the place was packed on a Tuesday night. There is a nice little lounge downstairs to get a Manhattan or cocktail before your meal. Food and service, 10 out of 10. The interior design could use a refresh, But that's being really picky. This was a first time visit for my boyfriend and I and the occasion was to to celebrate his birthday. Everyone was incredibly nice and all wished him a happy birthday! Our server, Brandon, was excellent. The food was all above par! From the fresh baked bread, the bbq spare rib appetizer (which were so tender we ate them with our forks they were my boyfriend's favorite part of the meal) to the enormous delicious baked potatoes to our perfectly cooked filet mignon. Our server even brought out his dessert with a candle a “Happy Birthday” sign on a toothpick. I cannot recommend Franklinville Inn more and we will absolutely be back soon!
No one picks up the phone when you try to make reservations, we eventually went with a hold table alternative. In my opinion, the food was ridiculously expensive. $111. For a King cut prime rib. $65. For a queen, other items mid $30s Dinner for 4 cost $270. Which included 2 wines 1 Pina col. you get one side and a soup or salad. Service was good, She seemed somewhat overwhelmed with tables. But she did a nice job checking with us on anything we needed. Either way it was just dinner. Just too pricey as comparable to other nice restaurants. The Franklinville Inn offers diners everything you want and more. The service is impeccable. From the moment you sit down to the time you walk out the door,all of the staff welcome you into the restaurant as family. The food is the absolute best! The crab bisque and the warm bread are two of my favorites. I love the crab cakes and the stuffed potato. All of the desserts are fabulous as well. You can't go wrong when dining at The Franklinville Inn. Always make a reservation and you will have the greatest dining experience!
We always get great service but this time it seemed the waitress may have been over booked. It took 40 min before we ever got bread. Never had experience like this in the past. It was my wife's bday and wasn't great but food was fantastic although we found out the owner stopped giving mints away because he got tired of picking up wrappers.
