Fraser Cafe - Reserva de mesa

Our first visit to The Fraser Café was in December 2016 (a late 17th anniversary / early 40th birthday celebration). My wife and I split the cheese board, duck confit, and the roast pork, and then had coffee and dessert (chocolate whisky cake made with Laphroaig 10 year-old...simply unbelievable...)Our second visit was at the end of July 2017, when we took my wife's parents out for dinner. As with the first, the food was to die for...well done, excellent portions, with reasonable pricing for what we were getting. Our only small complaint was that one of our dishes was quite late in arriving, however, when it did eventually land on the table, our waiter advised us that because of the lateness...

L'accueil et le service dans ce quartier des plus bilingues d'Ottawa se fait en anglais seulement, un non sens. Ce resto souffre depuis ses débuts d'un problème de ventilation assez sérieux, soyez prêts à subir les assauts des odeurs de friture et à vous sentir imprégné des relents de cuisson. Le service est TRÈS lent et est fait avec aucune chaleur et sincérité (des robots feraient mieux!). La cuisine se veut inventive et créative et les saveurs sont au rendez-vous mais tous les plats sont à notre avis de 4 à 7$ trop élevés; donc oublier le rapport qualité-prix. This is a popular place with good reason. I went with friends for dinner and then lunch the following day so they all know a good place when they see it! Dinner was delightful ...crab fritters to share, duck for me and my friend had the Arctic char...all beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The desserts were lick-the-plate good as well!Lunch has a different and more scaled back menu so not as much to choose from but some nice offerings. Both times, the waiters were very friendly and knowledgeable. A really wonderful introduction to beautiful Ottawa after many years away. Highly recommended!

Fraser Café est une véritable découverte dans un secteur inusité de la ville. Le menu est accrocheur et le serveur savait présenter ses mets. Le décor est sobre et l'atmosphère est calme facilitant la conversation.Ross et Simon Fraser nous offrent un menu succinct avec des ingrédients frais et bien apprêtés. Ils sont prêts à offrir des variantes pour s'adapter aux clients.Mon canard braisé sur un lit de couscous était un régal pour le palais.Mon compagnon s'est payé l'assiette du laboureur qu'il ne cessait de vanter.C'est un restaurant que je suggère fortement. I searched TripAdvisor and found this is the #1 restaurant in Ottawa so I went to try it yesterday. It was not as fabulous as I had expected.I ordered a Rainbow Trout. The fish itself was delicious and well cooked. It was nice. However, the sides and that under the fish was too sour. I don't remember what it was but it was just too sour. The eggplant fritter could be a bit larger but the Greek yoghurt with it was again too sour to eat.The service was good, though.

My son took me to The Fraser Cafe for a birthday meal when I visited him in Ottawa. We had the sharing meal of chicken and belly pork. We were advised that there would be a waiting time of approximately 45 minutes as the dish was cooked to order. It was definitely worth waiting for! The chicken and pork were delicious, each with a different sauce. The accompanying dishes were seriously good. Great desserts too! Staff were friendly and attentive.

Though the service was great, my food was disappointing. The bread was very bland. I ordered the B.C. Rockfish, which was also very bland and the accompaniments were not tasty at all and father unusual. The whole thing was overpriced.

Nice food. Service is ok. It is a nice location, great to walk on Beechwood after dinner. A bit expensive for total experience. Great place to take clients out. Somewhat cold near windows in the winter. Reserva una mesa ahora

Joined some friends for dinner at this very nice restaurant. Service was friendly and informative. The food was very well presented and of course delicious. Would go back next time I am in town

Delightful for the released chef I all us of.. try the 'chef's choice' and see what blend of tastes appears that night...
