Having enjoyed lunch at their sister establishment, Le Bistro du Quai, just across the road in Charolles, we booked a simple hotel across the road in order to experience the Michelin rated cuisine and wine of Mr. Doucet,two weeks later, while still in this part...of Burgundy. The menus offered excellent choice but having enjoyed an excellent Charolais steak at ale Bistro du quai, decided on the €85 Euro per head menu rather than the steak based €105. We’d hoped to enjoy a pre dinner drink in either the restaurant or attached hotel reception but were told that this was not possible as neither existed. We were then shown promptly to our table, possible 30-40 minutes earlier than we had planned...
location 8 a very nice, elegant and wide room without veiw. tables are perfectly prepared, with good distance. menu 9 1/2 everything we tasted was just delicious. the tasting menu mon charolais is an amazing sequence of surprise and taste. Special...Menge for the vulture, the juniper and the soufflé. wine drink 9 large and large wine list, with focus on burgundy. the prices are suitable for the art of restaurants. service 10 easy perfect bill 9 of course it is no cheap restaurant. but the relationship between quality and price is very good. conclusion: a deserved Micheli star restaurant for an elegant meal in couples or few friends. an experience that could not be forgotten.
we were very happy with our dinner. One-stars are very diverse and can be disappointing, but this obviously belongs to the top of its category. beautiful pleasant dining room, excellent service, several extras accompany the meal and a beautifully balanced, strictly prepared menu with beautiful...Products naturally concentrates the kitchen on the local products, especially charollais, but the chef also brilliantly has his talented with one of the best lobsters we had for a long time! impressive wine list as expected, but come with a brilliant sommelier, and be ready to know. prices very appropriate for quality. the way worth it.
