It's my second time stocking up on eclairs from French Twist. I was served by a lovely friendly girl who packaged my wares so they would withstand my flight to Sydney. I love their vanilla eclairs & their salted caramel eclairs. Good light & not too dry or bready texture to their choux pastry & the icing & custard filling has a delicious flavour. The ratio of choux to filling to icing is perfect. I have tasted their carrot cake but wasn't a fan of the whipped butter in their icing. I prefer a greater proportion of cream cheese to butter ratio in the frosting. However their eclairs are worth returning for again & again.
I love their bread. I tried different types of bread from quite a number of bakeries in Brisbane but none of them come even close to French Twist. The taste and quality of their bread is simply outstanding. My favourite “miche sourdough bread with seeds” but all others are pretty good as well. There were a few shops all over the city, but sadly there are only 2 left now, so I have to make a special trip each week. Cakes and cookies are ok, but it is their bread that I highly recommend.
If you have friends who are gluten free- take them here. They do cakes to order in any size. Gorgeous displays of cakes, pies, bread, slices. The pastries are displayed in an old fashioned travel case. The cabinets are glass and dark wood. I had a coconut slice and chocolate brownie made on almond meal... both delicious. Very well priced compared to nearby cake outlets. I'll be back to try more.
Went to French Twist, James St, Fortitude Valley today for lunch. Selected a tuna, egg, mayo & salad sandwich. Fresh and very tasty, thoroughly recommend it. The service there is also something to note, friendly but very professional, they know there stuff. Well done on all counts, will be returning with my work colleagues in the very near future.

Always love the choices at French Twist. You pay a little more, but well worth it. Offer gluten free bread, but staff need to be mindful to use a new glove so as not to "contaminate" the loaf.
Great fresh bakery with excellent fresh salad rolls on a variety of breads. They have all the old favourites and unique cakes for that special occasion.
Pancakes in a jar! Are you serious?! This is a place that I can't get overI've been here time and time again and I am never disappointed.
Fantastic range of gluten and dairy free pastries! I had a chocolate eclair and even took one home for a treat. Will definitely be back!

For those that love brunch, this is definitely one place to check outThe iced teas and juices are beautifully presented.
Grate coffee even for a french place. lol The food is ok but the cakes are a bit wanting. I enjoyed the free parking.
