Our family held an engagement function for 60, for one of our sons at this venue in August, and it was a great success. Not the least due to the Hotel Manager, Sean King, his wait staff and chefs. We got good advice beforehand on how much catering was required so that there was little left over. The venue was away from other activities and a very typical beachside area. We would heartily recommend it to others.
Always a favourite with the family, the "Giant Seafood Platter" a great choice. This hotl has maintained quality throughout for many years. The staff were. as usual, spot on for ur recent visit. Over many visits, both to the pub and the restaurant, have never disappointed. Cannot wait to get back there on my next leave. Make sure you take a healthy appetite with you they do not stint on the servings.
Ended up at Freshwater this evening and looking for a place to have dinner. Went to Freshies at the Hardboard beach hotel. Great friendly service. We both had the beef meat reef which as a good size rump steak with a couple of BBQ king prawns, red wine jus, with baked potato. Just what we needed. We would go back again
If you are in the mood for fantastic seafood or home style bistro / pub cooking this is your place. Very affordable and great for families, the ambiance of their dining room is really homely. The staff are excellent and really go above and beyond to look after their patrons.
