Truly one of the worst dining experiences of my life. Not one thing was positive about the dinner except the nice female server. But even she disappeared about stopping by the table twice to take our order. The restaurant itself is very claustrophobic and run down. I don’t think they’ve put one dollar into renovating any of the wickedly old restaurant. Seats are worn out. Tables are beat up. Decor is dated and sad. Cutlery is cheap and dinged up. Uncertain about how anyone could call this an authentic Italian place. Besides the odd Italian staff member, the food is definitely not. The pizza is far from Napoletan, there's too much cream in everything. The carbonara bears no resemblance to the actual dish, with no pecorino or guanciale in sight, only ham (yes, the honey wafer thin kind), and cream. I asked the owner for an authentic dessert, they recommended the tiramisu, which didn't have savoiardi, nor mascarpone, nor espresso. It had whipped cream and chocolate sauce? Your nonna would cry if they were served this sorry excuse for a tiramisu at an Italian restaurant, for 8 quid!!! You can get more authentic Italian food at Sainsbury'...
My husband was craving pasta so this had rave reviews decided to walk over from our hotel. The restaurant screams authentic Italian. We were able to get seated immediately and greeted with what we wanted to drink the water is served in the prettiest blue glass bottles. The menu is limited with some dishes not offering pasta with it at all, got penne pasta in a spicy tomato sauce with added chicken and spaghetti bolognese and a side of garlic bread. Sadly the garlic bread was the best part of the meal. Just kind of boring flavor. Forgot to even bother taking pics. My husband and I went before a show in Usher Hall. The food was blend. But that was nothing in comparison to the fact that I gave 2 bills of 50 pounds to cover a bill of 51 pounds. The waitress gave change from 60. When I protested, they made me out to be who knows what. I practically got thrown out of there by someone who appeared to be the owner or son of owner. Scarry rude guy. Terrible experience. Don't go there.

Olivia and the team couldn't have been more welcoming, warm and attentive. So helpful with pointing out allergen information and wine pairing. Food was absolutely phenomenal and just hit the spot. Great atmosphere and happy staff are always a good sign! We'll be seeing you molto presto!
Visited here this evening for a meal before a show at the Usher Hall. Lovely food- I had the pepperoni pizza which was delicious but the pasta dishes looked fantastic also ! Staff were super friendly and very lovely. We will be back!

Best Italian restaurant in Edinburgh. The bruschetta was one of the best I’ve ever tasted outside of Italy !
