I really wanted to love this place. The aesthetic is beautiful, with definite European vibes reflected in the tables, seating, and outdoor options. Although I’ve never tried the food, it always looks appealing—whether it’s pastries or hot dishes. Their happy hour wine is pretty good, which isn’t always the case for $7 glasses. However, the coffee is just disappointingly mediocre. I drink black coffee and the quality of the beans is clearly subpar. My 16oz iced Americano is watery and lacking, with only two weak espresso shots compared to the usual four found at most NYC coffee shops. Also, forgive me for sounding like an old man (I’m 30), but the music is way too loud for a space this size....

The first time I visited, it took more than 5 minutes to receive a simple iced black coffee. When I returned two months later, I was served a croissant that was extremely stale. Very disappointing overall. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3 Takeaway Lunch Price per person: $1–10

The service and ambiance were excellent, but the coffee was just average and doesn’t quite deserve a 5-star rating.
