this place has an amazing selection of dressed on its menu from various East Asia and Southeast Asia cuisine. as an appetizer ordered my wife and I both thay soup, which was delicious. A hidden treasure in Canela!! We are retired and live in Canela since 2012. We passed in front of Galangal many times, always thinking that an Asian restuarant in Canela can't be that good. After almost a year passed, and hearing very positive comments from...our friends, we finally decided to give Galangal a try. Oh ... How we were wrong! this Asian restaurant was recommended by our airbnb host and it was not disappointed. the food was fresh and tasty and the portions were quite large. we shared delicious spring rolls that came with 3 different diving sauce. my man had a garnelenpad thai and I had the 27 pieces sushi court. our server even spoke English that is very rare in canela. overall beautiful experience and a pleasant evening in canela. a bit on the expensive side for the opposite, but they get what they pay!
Uma das experiências gastronômicas mais incríveis da vida. Todos os pratos experimentados no festival especial estavam simplesmente fantásticos! O sabor dos mesmos é perfeito. O ambiente e o atendimento são pontos de excelência também! Único porém é o gap entre os pratos, que poderia ser um pouco mais rápido, apesar de compreender o toque do chef pessoalmente em cada receita. Parabéns Galangal, excelente como sempre! Absolutelly fantastic. I have been in many exotic places in Brazil and Galangal is one of those which the smell and the treatment is just about to be perfect. It serves not regional food which for some might well be a better choice if you...are into eastern flavours. There is no kids place but my 4 year old daughter loved it anyway. Thai, Japanese and Chinese smells and flavours in good amount.
Although we didn't expect to find a great Asian restaurant in Canela, we absolutely did in Galangal. We are now regulars, eating their at least once every two weeks. We found both the hot dishes and the sushi have always been very fresh...and very tasty. If you like Asian food, then be sure to give galangal a try when you are in Canela!!
it was a great surprise! Asian menu with many options, including vegetarian.
