Galston Chinese Restaurant

After picking up our daughter from the Galston Conference Centre we wanted to have a nice meal somewhere we could sit and talk about her weeks adventures at camp. Used trusty trip advisor to see what was nearby by and Chinese was the families choice.The restaurant is tucked upstairs so we nearly missed it. The restaurant is basic but clean and tidy. We happened to be the only people there which at 8pm on a Friday night would normally be a sign that the place wasn't great.... but take away orders were constantly being collected.We sat down and started to chat when the manager came and moved us, she said we would be much more comfortable on the other side of the restaurant as it would be warmer and out of the draft as the front door is left open.So after resettling tables, we ordered and before we knew it our first course arrived.... The spring rolls and chicken and ham roll was delicious.Then came the rest of the food.... piping hot and piled high. It was oh so tasty and really lovely fresh food.The dishes were average price for Chinese food. The serving size was good, the 5 of us couldn't complain as we could not finish the food, so the owner happily packed it up in take away dishes for us to take home.A nice meal we throughly enjoyed.

This is our local Chinese so we've dined in quite a bit as well as takeaway on a regular basis. We love their food!Meals are fresh, authentic, generous servings & packed with flavour. Our favourites are honey chicken & Szechuan beef but they have a large menu to choose from.Great service, nothing is ever a problem & meals are served quickly. The restaurant itself is quite large so there's plenty of room to cater for large groups.It won't win any medals for atmosphere, the decor is quite dated & a bit boring... don't let that put you off, the food is awesome!

If you want old-style tasty, generous, and reasonably priced asian food in a nice clean (but basic) air-conditioned location, with BYO then this is the place to visit!Family operated business, with the food promptly served straight from the wok! The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the lack of disabled access; it's on the first floor with access by stairs only.

We have not actually eaten at the restaurant but have ordered takeaway food plenty of times. The kids love the food and it is just good quality, Chinese food. All the basic dishes on offer. Service is always good and staff are always friendly. Cooked in a timely manner and a great takeaway option on nights you don't feel like cooking.

Ok so this little gem is tucked away up some stairs. The food is great but I wouldn't stay there to dine as the restaurant is a little drab. Service is excellent and friendly and as I said the Chinese foo for take away is great.
