I visited my elderly Mum today, she suggested going to the Derby Arms for a roast dinner as she'd eaten there recently with my sister. However they were fully booked, so I looked online and found Galu. The reviews were great and my Mum has only ever heard good things from friends and neighbours. So I called and booked for 12:45 Sunday 21st Jan 2024. We were both pleasantly surprised to see roast dinners on the menu ... Mum order lamb and I ordered beef part of their set menu. Just really disgusted with Galu 8th Nov.. I ordered steak and chips, only got the steak, the chips belatedly...I complained and wasn 't charged. Great? No. Not great. Spontaneous visit with my wife, I ordered a ribeye steak, chips billed as coming with tomatoes and rocket. Steak arrived, no chips...surly waiter telling me 'the chips are coming '....no rocket, no tomatoes. Steak was barely warm, so I started to eat it...half gone, said surly waiter brings chips over (salad never arrived and I complained....steak and chips should come with chips at the same time...place was half empty, not like they were busy..zero empathy, zero apology....just simply 'ok so what do you want me to do then...yo...

Came to celebrate the kids’ new jobs. Immediately welcomed with a friendly face. There was no wait to be seated despite the restaurant being busy (Tues night is steak night all steak half price). We were not hurried to order and after drinks we started with deep fried squid, haloumi and trio of dips…all delicious; especially the squid which was cooked to perfection. As it’s steak night 2 tomahawks, usually £75 each but tonight £37.50. Amazing, cooked as requested and served with a choice of sauces and sides you won’t need sides as the steak is 1kg…well worth it though. We had the best time, nothing was to much trouble and everyone throughly enjoyed the whole evening. The girls had super impressive mocktails at the bar then a fabulous set menu. Great value for money and a real family fun atmosphere. We visited as a large group of 12 people for our Christmas get together. From the minute we walked in, everyone was attentive to our requirements and couldn’t do enough for us. Great service from the team and the food was simply outstanding,….the steaks!!!! We will be booking again for 2024 if this is the standard! Amazing restaurant with an amazing atmosphere and great people!

Galu never disappoints. Amazing food cook in plain sight, a great menu catering for all tastes, friendly staff. We love this local family restaurant and on Tuesday it’s steak night and that gives you delicious steaks at half price. We love it

I visited today with my brother and we had a lovely brunch. The service was friendly and fast. The food arrived promptly. I can highly recommend the Eggs Benedict with spinach. And the Americano coffee was lovely. Lovely experience

Little hidden gem, great food, service okay, but Tuesday nights are organised chaos, reasonably priced, friendly staff happy to go again. If you visit lunchtimes parking can be a bit awkward. Reserva una mesa ahora

Great food, have a wide variety of fresh homemade Mediterranean dishes Greek food. Service is very good, better than most Michellin star restaurants in central london
