Gandhi Saint Pierre

Visited on our first evening in Saint Germain, as we do like to enjoy and Indian wherever we are staying. Friendly welcome from staff, seated inside thru to the left at the window, also nice seating area as you enter and an area outside. We ordered a bottle of white wine not cheap (compared to back home at €25 (but we found most places we visited were the same ordered onion bhajee and mixed pakora starters to share, with chutneys, then a poulet (chicken tandoori, and a poulet tikka dish with rice , naan bread and a chapati, all our food was freshly prepared, well presented and very tasty, we always enjoy seeing how different countries prepare and present their food, especially onion bhajees,...

We have lived for years near Saint Germaine and the Gandhi Saint Pierre was always a favorite restaurant but it closed about two years ago and just recently re-opened. The new new version bears no comparison with the old one. We booked for 8pm and arrived on time. We ordered but did not receive our starters until after 9pm because continuous preference was given to take-out orders. When the starters did arrive, the samosas were obviously taken from a freezer and reheated but remained cold inside. The main dishes were very small, very bland and were served tepid. The two naans that we ordered never arrived. Easily the worst dining experience in my memory.

Their priority is obviously take-out. Service dreadful. Samosas still icy inside. Naan bread never arrived. All dishes without flavour and tepid. Meat scarce in all dishes....maybe because we all ordered lamb based curries, lamb hard to find. Having asked for one plate to be heated up in microwave two long hairs found in returned plate. This is no joke. It was a birthday celebration with son and girlfriend out from Paris. A catastrophe all round. Never again! Avoid at all cost. I argued about bill...got 18Euro knocked off. BFD. Total scandal.

My favorite Indian restaurant! I order very often at home (both on applications and take away) and I am never disappointed! I love their kitchen, the dishes are on top, the staff is adorable and generous! The butter chicken is really excellent! The price quality ratio is at the top! I visited this Indian restaurant with my husband and friends and we were very impressed. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was happy and laid back. A small restaurant with big character. We will return.

Very good quality price for 44€ I particularly recommend the Chicken Kashimiri spices and lychee. coconut cream, and the Grilled Chicken Tika shashlik with Bhuna vegetables, 2 cheese-wrongs, rice and 2 drinks (1 lassi and 1 soda). EX CEL LENT!

I'd rather be surprised at comments... We ate great, chicken butter was succulent... as well as cheese naan. The waiters had a smile. I recommend this restaurant. Well glad I could make my own opinion. I'll be back! Thank you again and soon

Excellent quality of vegetarian dishes. The terrace is beautiful for lunch.
