I stopped in for the evening meal. The menu was as usual certain dishes are served on certain days. My food came and at first I had half of the order incorrect. The waitress corrected the mistakes but, when you are waiting on your main dish everything else is getting cold. I ate some of it and took the rest to my friend's house and warmed it for an evening snack. I don't understand how the cooks can place the wrong items on your plate when it was clear enough I could read what she wrote. If you love country cooking like me , this is another good country style food place in Shoals area . Nothing to explain here if you love good ole cornbread with that country fried steak or chicken or fish etc. , creamy mashed potatoes , some beans and greens . They all are good . Its simple delicious and puts a big smile on your face . The service is good , staff is friendly and the food is great . So if you are in shoals area then check this one out of many country cooking places in Shoals . Its a good one .
I had a disappointing experience at the restaurant today. The girl at the front with brown hair and glasses was quite rude. They accidentally left off one of my manager's food items from her plate and were uncooperative when we asked to fix the issue. Additionally, the juice had spilled everywhere because of how they arranged the plate. It was frustrating to see that my manager didn't even have her third side, and I had to go back inside to retrieve it.

I love Garden Gate, but the food is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a lot of fries in the serving, sometimes you get far fewer. Sometimes you get a lot of lettuce in your chef salad and sometimes you don't get very much at all. The sandwiches are not put together well. It is great if you stick to the daily specials.
