We decided to simply pop in for dinner not really knowing what to expect. What we found was your typical local German pub with all the atmosphere of a local pub. The small dinning area was rather full so we were offered a table that was already occupied with an elderly couple which was not an issue for them or us. Very friendly and welcoming. We opted for Schnitzel and were not disappointed both in quality and size! Apart from the usual beer, wine and other drinks the pub also has a locally produced apple wine which is very reasonably priced and a must try if you are into apple wine. All in all a very enjoyable few hours.
You'll get glances from the locals when you walk in, especially if you look like a tourist, but that's part of German tradition, that silent, excessively long stare, hunched over a mug of beer. The food is decent, traditional German. I can't even remember much about it because you come here because a) you somehow found your way to this quaint town and got hungry, b) your friends brought you. Either way, you're there because you have to be and it certainly is good enough to enjoy. There aren't many other choices in town and I doubt you'll get an unpleasant meal here.
Went here for a Sunday lunch with friends. The ambiance is nice and purposefully outdated. The service is friendly and the food good. A soup turned out not to be as supposed and was replaced bu another one without hesitation. The beef salad was nice and although not really expensive (€15), compared to the other listings and the quantity we got is was somewhat expensive. The salad with chicken for around €9 is more advisable. However, all the ingredients were good, fresh and well seasoned. A nice simple place to go to.
Stumbled upon this place by accident. Small and old traditional Hesse pub. Mainly meat dishes on the menus, and two vegetarian ones. The prices are very reasonable (even the drinks)and the portions are large. I was also very surprised of their good and friendly staff. Nice place. Reserva una mesa ahora
Great little restaurant. Very busy but the waiter placed us with other local people. All very friendly. Had great Schnitzel and local beer and apple wine. Don't miss to go for walk through the village. The historic old centre is so beautiful. Definitely worth a visit.
