next to the austrian/german border, between schleching/germany and koessen/austriais the old chapel of klobenstei beside a big rock with a cleft in the middle, reminder of the miracleand grace of st.mary.a few meter beyond is today's 'miracle': a beautiful restored old alpine cottage/guesthousewith a long tradition, now converted by an enterprising couple into a most remarkable inn.specialties are the best ducks originating from the most famous bio-farm and goose, roastedand spiced in an old fashioned way. they have to be ordered 24hours in advance, but with luckyou get a spare one or you try the specialty dish of roasted 'left-overs' or a roasted pork-knuckle.there is one downside to mention: it is very popular and can be very busy! sometimes thehosts are overwhelmed by people trying to get a seat or a dish in the last minuted and youmight have to wait for half an hour or so and to remind them that you have ordered.but overall: an excellent experience you will not find anywhere else.

really nice walk through the forest. nice on a hot summer day. hiking shoes necessary. the suspension bridge has a great view. the gas house klobenstein is a beautiful place for a drink after the hike. they can be parked at the sportalm. in kössen (3 euro) start. there you will find the signs to the smugglerweg. it takes about half an hour to get to the bridge.
not friendly. no service. drinks are not properly cooled. waited more than 30 minutes for 3 slices of baked apples, which cost only €7,50. this place could be a perfect place for a good memory, but they seem to think that people only come here. Well, we'll never return here! bring her own eating to a drink to finish the beautiful walk with a good feeling!
