So we wanted to try out some authentic german food and our pension hostess recommended this restaurant. She made a reservation for us and we were on our way!!!The place is nice and big, with an outdoor section as well as large inside area. We as a party of 9 were seated inside after a bit of a wait trying to find a waiter or staff...there did not seem to be any greeters/hostesses around. The menu was quite comprehensive and laid out well, with an explanation of each item in english for those who did not speak german. No system for allocating tables when busy. We (family of 5) arrived and were told a table in the outside beer garden would be ready in about 10 minutes. Almost an hour later we were still waiting, and had stood watching while larger tables were being given to couples, leaving smaller tables which were not suitable for our group. Several times we were told that a table for us would be ready in about 5-10 minutes. Finally we were offered a table in another indoor area while a group arriving after us was given a table outside which would have suited us. All in all a chaotic and unpleasant experience. Would not recommend.
Very good food and a great atmosphere. We went here for two days. First day we were seated together with some other guests, which ended up being extremely fun and got us some new fun contacts.Second day sitting in the yard, which was extremely cozy. The workers still remembered us, called some recommendations and were extremely friendly and happy towards us. The garden seating was calm and nice. Food was delicious, great schnitzels with a lot of choices, extras and great prices. Would recommend dining here if you are near here (for example, after a Europa-Park visit).
Great dinner after a full day in the park. German specialities at their best. The "spaetzlis" are great ( I have a german mother and I can tell you they are really great). All meats are excellent and served in generous portions. Add a local wine or beer and you will have a wonderful time. Staff is nice and prompt to reply to your needs. Very decently priced. Booking in advance is highly recommended

We eated twice here and I can tell that the food is good especially the flaedle suppe. Very nice waiters and the waiting time is not long. Beautiful garden and many places. The prices are medium. You can try after a long day in Europa Park!
I have eaten in the best restaurants all over the world, but the food and atmosphere at the Ochsen beats them all. I have been going there for over 20 years whenever I am in the area and will continue to do so. Well done.
We have a great time in this restaurant service was excellent as well as the foods. They all very helpful and most of them they speak English very well.

Helpful staff, good with kids. Proper food, correctly prized. A place to return to. And great schnitzel.
The schnitzels and french fries are great. The service is very friendly. And all this for a small price.
