Gasthaus zur Blume GmbH

Set out for a hike in Magden Switzerland in May of 2016. The village of Magden, a municipality of Rheinfelden (another absolutely wonderful place) is in the Canton of Aargau. The history of Magden, like many other European places is Roman and the original name was Magdinium. The village is a great place for hiking and biking, it is very scenic and tranquil on the outskirts of Rheinfelden. We found ourselves wandering through fields of flowers and rolling hills where the cows were grazing peacefully. Many picturesque homes and buildings make up Magden. Of course like many Swiss villages, the Magden Christian Catholic church is one of the main anchors of the village.After a half day of hiking around and taking in the sites, it was time for a late lunch...we stumbled on Gasthaus zur Blume and well, it just looked like it was going to be great. of course, like most all eateries in Switzerland, the prices were going to be high (but there are many good reasons for this) But with those high prices comes high quality food and drink!Gasthaus zur Blume did not disappoint. The service was friendly and the the place itself was very clean and beautifully constructed. The food was positively delicious. We had meats and cheeses of course! We had some schnitzel and röschti and a couple of glasses of bier! Full and completely satisfied we made our back to Basel happy to have spent the day in Magden.

Für mich war der Besuch eine Premiere und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Wir hatten den Tisch unter dem riesigen Kastanienbaum auf der Terrasse. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung. Die Salate, Fleisch- sowie Fischgerichte waren ganz toll für das Auge wie für den Gaumen. Die Weinkarte lässt keine Wünsche offen. Das Lokal war für einen Dienstagabend sehr gut besucht, eine Reservation empfehlenswert. Wir kommen sicher wieder

Wir essen regelmäßig hier und sind zufrieden. Die Karte ist sehr gross und wir könnten auch mit einer Kleineren gut leben. Wohl wegen der grossen Auswahl ist die Qualität etwas schwankend.Der Service ist in Ordnung wenn auch meist im Stress. Eigentlich würde wir gerne mit "Gut" bewerten aber leider fehlt diese Bewertung - aus diesem Grund sehr gut...

The Restaurant Blume or "Blümli" as locals say is a nice village restaurant in Magden. Big choice of Swiss food or in automn also game. Not a trendy/chic city restaurant but down to earth mostly visited by locals. In summer you can sit outside under the trees and have a beer or - even better - try one of the local vines.

Das Essen ist immer frisch und toll zubereitet, der Service sehr zuvorkommend und im Sommer sitzt man unter einem riesigen Kastanienbaum auf einer gemütlichen Terrasse. Eine Reservation empfiehlt sich.
