"“Gasthof Grabmayer” is a restaurant situated in the hamlet of Schrauding a little outside of Frohnleiten. We found its interior tastefully decorated in a rustic style. The comprehensive standard menu included many classics of the Austrian and regional cuisines, but also a few special, creative dishes. It was complemented by a menu of the season dominated by asparagus dishes.Staff was friendly and well-trained. Since not only the dining rooms but also the terrace were packed with guests, service was perhaps somewhat more sluggish than usual, yet not to an extent would have been inconvenient. In spite of that, the waiting time from ordering to receiving our meals was short indeed. We had a “Maritimer Salat” and a “Jägerpfandl” either of which cost only about 10 euros. Very cheap for a restaurant of this standing! Notwithstanding that, portions were large. We would have expected only a few small pieces of fish fillet on top of the salad, but in reality, this was almost an entire fish platter with ample salad underneath.Thus, according to our experience, “Gasthof Grabmayer” is an ambitious restaurant well above average as far as quality is concerned, whereas its price level does not exceed the average."
