Gasthof Neuwirt

This is the worst place I have been to in and around Munich area where I am a frequent visitor. It is an awful and horrible place in every dimension., The waiter was the worst wait staff I have ever encountered anywhere in the world. If you look for a restaurant in Garching, there are incomparably better choices such as Motti Mahal, Farmers Steak House, El Greco. If you are looking for a traditional cuisine Augustiner down the road is an excellent choice.

I went with a group of friends and it was after the typical German dinner time (8.30), but the waiter was very impolite and intolerant...when we asked for a dessert he said the kitchen was closed, but he didn't seemed very sorry... I took cordon blue and it was full of oil...I won't come back, I'm sure...

This is my normal restaurant when I visit Garching, typically have dinner here. The interior is cosy, there is also a nice beer garden in the outside when the weather is good. The food is typical german food, with generous servings.

Very nice venue with below average food and ruined by rude personnel. If it had not been a business dinner for a larger group I would have left mid dinner.

Serves a good range of typical Bavarian food and beer. Can get busy at times so its wise to book a table especially when trade fairs are in town.
