After a small walk in the nature reserve where the Wiesenmühle is located, we decided to return there at noon to eat a little bite. Service: We were kindly handed over the table, except where the napkins are upright, there is reserved! Well, well to know, we couldn't do that wrong. Otherwise, the waiter simply did his job, as you expected, no more and no less. 2,5* The food: We had randomly caught the carving day, there were all carvings two euros cheaper. We chose onion chips with roast potatoes at €7.50, with Coke light 0.2l to 1.70 and Äppler sour 0.25l to 1.50. A party of 4 of us visited for a lunch and thanks to the excellent weather we were able to eat al fresco. We skipped starters and all 4 of us chose a schnitzel of one type or another all accompanied by the local specialty, grune sosse, a herbal mix with yogurt or creme. We all pronounced the food as excellent and we rounded off with a couple of sumptuous desserts. The lunch was greatly enhanced by a beautiful bottle of house Sekt. This is a wonderful relaxing place for a meal.
Best chicken I've had. This is a great place but their chicken is amazing. The restaurant is in the middle of fields so you have to drive there. Fortunately like most German Restaurants they have a good selection of Non Alcoholic Beers so you can enjoy a brew with your meal. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are very friendly. Beautiful courtyard, cosy interior, good Reingau wines, pub grub quality food at reasonable prices. They have an English menu if you ask. Service has varied from good to quite slow if you are outside and it is busy. Waiting staff vary in their ability to speak English but you can get by with a mix of English and a few German words. My German hostess liked the traditional apple cider very much, but didn 't like the food.
Been here a few times over the last year whilst working in Hochheim. This place is a 25min walk from the hotel across the fields very much worth it when you get there. No good for beer (only one bottled), it is ater all a wine house and eatery. Chicken and the usual Schnitzel type stuff but it is good and exceptional value. Not special, not flash just good value and with good service. Recommend a trip if local.
The Wiesenmuehle is a typical german restaurant with German, local (Hessisch) food. They have their own vinyard and offer a small selection of excusite wines. Beer is available as well. I ordered Schnitzel Holsteiner Art, my wife Schnitzel Frankfurter Art. Both dishes were delicious. The portion are right for price value. Not too big. Not too small. Just right. We will come back when in the Frankfurt Area.
I was invited by my business associates for lunch at this restaurant. It is a nice family-run restaurant in a rural surrounding.
