I booked a table in Rössli after reading the positive reviews hereunder, and got rewarded with a great dinner: uncomplicated atmosphere, delicious food, friendly service. On Fridays and Saturdays be sure to reserve a table I sat in the wooden “Stammsaal” and it was fully booked. Congrats to the staff, who is truly welcoming and efficient. The menu puts focus on traditional Swiss specialties and as I visited early November game and venison dishes. Top country inn, highly recommended. Something fine on the menu for everyone. Service courteous and attentive. The only thing that would make this complete is that staff should take a calming step. No stress in operation. If things are going too slowly for you, you're in the wrong place
It is becoming increasingly difficult to find good country inns in the Emmental. Luckily there is the Rössli in Schafhausen. For lunch we had the pork fillet with noodles and the Läberli with rösti. Very finely cooked. Plus pleasant service in a rustic environment, everything fits.
