The days on Fehmarn go to the end, and with Opi Hartig it should go to dinner again. Since almost all restaurants are fully booked through the high season on the island, we were lucky to have a place in the “Gaststätte am Die-Das Schnitzelhaus” for a short time. So it went by car to the campsite “Am Deich” to Wenkendorf. Immediately behind the dune, at the entrance to the campsite you will find the quite inconspicuous purpose building that houses this restaurant. Parking spaces for the mobile base are sufficient. Since we weren't sure whether it was self-service, we wanted to inquire inside. An old, bad-tempered waitress told us what we wanted. We said something to eat and drink. The lady then responded with a grumpy “then sit down,” accompanied by an unfriendly shake of the head. For us this was enough of a good thing and we moved away. The restaurant was empty at noon at noon (no wonder) and half of the tables were either reserved for camping guests or marked with... not for eating! We can only confirm the partly negative reviews regarding the unfriendly service!!
Unfortunately I have to give one star. If you could give minus stars, I would have taken them. The two of us sat outside. The waitress came and took drinks. We said we would also like to eat. Then she got rude if we didn 't make a reservation 'There 's nothing.BASTA! If we had known that, we would have I didn 't drink anything. There were enough tables available. Inside and outside and not reserved. Something like that had never ! happened to us. We drank up quickly and left. Off to the Italian restaurant a little further away. They were super friendly
The first time on Fehmarn. The Schnitzelhaus promised a nice lunch. Many tables are reserved for the campers, which is ok. So I politely asked if I could eat here. A very rude lady directed us to a table outside. The statement at the front left was a bit inaccurate as the front left was occupied and the others were reserved. Since I didn't want to spoil my good mood, we chose another location.

We had schnitzel with fries and matjes with fried potatoes. Both were great. Good portions. Reservation required by telephone was problem-free. The store is conservative in the best possible way! Unfortunately we only discovered it at the end of our vacation, otherwise we would have gone there more often.
The food and drinks are top-notch as always. We've been coming back to the Schnitzelhaus for years when we vacation on Fehmarn. The service has always been friendly, and I can't understand some of the negative reviews at all. We'll be happy to come back!
Nice place, friendly Staff you can get along with if you want to. We come for dinner several times every year. It's always a poem. Very, very tasty
Were there today, very unfriendly boss, all seats were reserved, you can't eat spontaneously, maybe it was better that way. I look at the reviews!
