The Schalkhaus has been residing in a very beautiful converted barn since 2008. The hosts, the Hefner family, also operate a wine-growing company in secondary acquisition. Vineyard. Four grape varieties, Müller Thurgau, Chardonnay, Portugieser and Dornfelder are cultivated. Since 1994, the company also has a brandy. As an appetizer we had the Senf-Zwiebel-Cremesuppe, as the main course the goose breast with root vegetables and potato dumplings or the sour roast with red cabbage with potato dumplings.
