What can we say about Gateway Lodge? The rooms are clean, with beautiful jet tubs and fireplace. The food is great (and healthy). The entertainment was fantastic (we made the case Harvest Weekend package). Our waitress in the restaurant, Robin, was wonderful this stay and on our previous stay a few years ago. She gets to know the things you like and has them ready for you when you sit down. The owners are very accommodating and work very hard. Rob has some great suggestions of wine or beer pairings with meals. We really enjoyed spending time in the Gateway Lodge with our family. Cottage feel and smell in a positive way, the heat much with fireplaces so that smell lingers even in summer- I loved it. No TV in some rooms, if needed you need to ask. Wifi for overnight guests. Lovely breakfast basket that you choose from two mains and you got a mason jelly jar with cover of OJ, a piece of fruit(orange) and pastry/sweet that you could take outside to picnic table or we just ate it in our room. Coffee and tea in room, just need to ask if you need it replenished. Breakfast was delightful. Found our room over diningroom to be noisy until diners left then very quiet. I highly recommend staying at Gateway Lodge! My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend there, and it was truly wonderful. The food was delicious, with an extensive selection of wine and beer. The "Taste of the Wild" dinner was absolutely fantastic! My husband, who is usually a picky eater, enjoyed every single bite. Be sure to ask for the wine pairings! The ambience and live music added to the lovely atmosphere. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and welcoming. We really appreciated chatting with them and learning more about the area. Amazing weekend. It was everything I expected, amazingly clean, quite, and so much fun. The bartender wine connoisseur was so much help and even got me to have a few glasses wine. He also was so knowledgeable helping us find our way around the area with great sightseeing locations. Cook Chef prepaired so much wonderful food, tasteful and an unexpected blast to the taste buds, portioned just right so that we could enjoy the 3 course meal, and breakfast each morning to energize our day. Awesome rooms, clean, we had hot, tub, balcony. Nice cozy place. Parking little tight. Guest services could be marked better to check in. Great place and all manageable. Coziness of the lodge itself and rooms overcomes all of it. I'll definitely be back.Below is just side note, not why I stayed, but only fair to mention.Restaurant Little pricey for quality and portion of what I ordered.Nearby activities: Go carts, horseback riding, tubing, Kayaking, canoeing, hiking. Many activities around.

This place is beautiful. The staff is so friendly. I thought the food was excellent. The rooms are a good size, and I love the fireplace and tub. My only complaint is that I wish the balcony was private. You can see/listen all the others who can be on their balcony at the same time as you can. Some louvered panels on the sides to provide some privacy would be perfect!

My second time there, staff is excellent very attentive. Room was spotless and perfect sized plus the breakfast and dinner food is fantastic. The food choices are locally produced and of a high quality. Great getaway with plenty of fishing, hiking, sight seeing just feet away.
