Location (4/5 : The location is very nice and the outdoor area is fantastic. Enough space between the tables. Attention: close to the airport and you can hear/see the planes take off and land. I personally find this fascinating, but others may also find it disturbing . Service (2/5 : The restaurant was fairly well stocked on the terrace. I don 't know if it was that crowded inside. Since many year, this restaurant is kind of a landmark of the region and it went through its share of changes over time. I do know the place since the early eighties. Recently my wife and I decided to enjoy an early summer evening in the garden of the Geerlisburg, having a light dinner and a nice bottle of wine. The place looks still the same as it did some 30 years ago and the view on a clear spring day towards the Swiss Alps is still marvelous. But this comes at a price: we were utterly amazed to find out that a simple local dish like geschnetzeltes roesti would set us back some 42 Swiss Francs! A bit off the beaten track, but only within 5 mins car drive from central Kloten, whether for a quick refreshing drink, snack, or a meal with a view, this is an excellent venue to sit outside when there is fine weather. Restaurant has been renovated and changed ownership a few times over of the last years but now offers first class locally sourced food and menu, with friendly and good service.
So, so. Expensive for the service delivered. Top few staff which is overworked. Nice view. Summertime is nice up there. Nice view on landing airplanes on Rwy28, nice spotting location. The prices are certainly too expensive. E.g. Cordon-Bleu for 41 CHF but still a rather cheap atmosphere. That does not fit well together.

Unfortunately very disappointing. The service was very brisk and not in a good way. The food did not correspond to the quality that you can expect from a pork cordon blue for just under 40. And it wasn't very appealing either. A pity. This was the last visit for us.
Super accommodating staff very friendly competent. The gentleman always came to the table in a good mood and with a smile I really appreciate that. The view is unique in the region and the food was great too. We enjoyed it very much. Best regards Kamm Solutions GmbH
Danger: New owner!!! Geerlisburg is now part of a Zurich gastro group. Prices have risen and the quality of the food has taken a massive fall. Service is Zurich style: Nobody Cares.
