I was so excited to try this place. I showed up to pick up my pizza, go home, and it was burned top and bottom. I called, hoping to receive another, and was told BY THE MANAGER that they?d send me another one burned because it?s deep dish and that?s how they look after cooking for 45 minutes. Um, no, that is not how deep dish pizza looks. She told me she couldn?t refund me because an owner wasn?t there and then hung up on me. I called back and she screamed at the poor kid who answered that he needed to take my number. She needs to be medicated. I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism in my life. Horrible customer service. Total shame because I really wanted to like this place. I was impressed by the menu and have a place here and planned to order frequently. Do yourself a favor, don?t waste your time or money or pay for poor young kids to be verbally abused by this nutcase. I called back today to speak to the owner to give him a chance to correct the situation from last night.... what a waste of time THAT was. The owner DID NOT make the situation right. He too tried to defend the burned pizza by referencing the 45 minute cook time because it is deep dish. Has no one in this place seen an actual deep dish pizza? Absolutely ludicrous. Then instead of a refund he tries to give me a credit after not even apologizing for his managers attitude and for hanging up on me. I explain that I don?t plan on coming back based on the prices not matching the website, the cook time taking 15 minutes longer than I was quoted, AND the food being scorched, and then the manager screaming like a banshee, hanging up on me, and then screaming at the poor kid that answered the phone. He then tells me they are the busiest pizza place in the entire area (with his personality, the food I was served, and the reviews I later found online, I find that hard to believe), and that he?s just way too busy to give me a refund until at least Wednesday or Thursday and that it?s only $17.99, what
Sine the gem has lost a major amount of regular employees it has goes way downhill. We have always had issues of items not being made properly however long time regular employees have made sure that is t the case anyMore. Well tonight placed an order went to pick up o my to have dumbfounded people not knowing where our order was. Apparently they gave to someone else. Owners need to be there with all the new workers as relying on these kids to run and close the business is not a good thing. Will be speaking g with owners tomorrow but will never utilize this take out again after all these years. So sad to see them go downhill so quickly but will spread the word as this is not acceptable and no care from them that they made a mistake yet again If your staff would have offered to remake the food when we came for pickup that would have been different However they just acted stupid not knowing g where our order was stating we think we made it. Totally bad business sense to assume the customer was wrong in this instance as we have been customers for many years. I called after husband came home with no food and no offer to remake as your staff shut off outside lights to close. I was asked what they expected me to do and asked them to make the food which they did. A customer shouldn?t gave to asked to have food remade that was given to someone else because it was close to closing time. Poor business service and will ge ordering elsewhere as well as spreading the word about how well the owners care about loyal customers. Social media is great but sucks for many. Didn?t even get an apology from your people but an attitude for having to remake food close to closing
Different Cheesesteak #867. Very good little stop off the beaten trail. I really like what they are doing at Gem Market. It looks like they recently added a pizza oven in the back of the market. Very good cheesesteak but a little too much oil. The oil helped hold the heat and melt the cheese but it was just a bit messy, greasy messy. Very good cheesesteak.
